Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva unveiled yet another electoral poster titled “Farzi Voters Se Ishq Hai” (Love for Fake Voters) on Thursday, aimed at exposing alleged instances of fake voter creation within the AAP, specifically involving former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his associates.

The poster, which also carried the tagline “Mahathag original: Voter List Scam 2024”, accuses Kejriwal and his allies of orchestrating a series of political crimes to undermine the democratic process in Delhi.

Addressing the media, Sachdeva said: “Kejriwal and his associates are deeply involved in systematically ruining Delhi step by step through political corruption and electoral fraud. This has now reached a point where they are manipulating the voters’ list for their benefit.”

The BJP president specifically targeted AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, accusing him of dishonestly blaming the BJP for the removal of his wife, Anita Singh, from the voters’ list.

“Sanjay Singh should clarify where exactly he and his wife are registered as electorate,” Sachdeva said, adding that Singh had made false accusations against the BJP over the issue.

Sachdeva claimed that when Sanjay Singh was nominated to the Rajya Sabha in 2018, his affidavit stated that his voter registration was in the Harinagar Assembly constituency, while both his and his wife’s names were simultaneously listed on the Sultanpur municipal council’s voters’ list. “This clearly shows an attempt to manipulate voter registration in multiple constituencies,” Sachdeva said.

He also accused Singh of having voter registrations in both New Delhi and Vikaspuri constituencies in 2024, calling it a “shameful case of electoral fraud.”

Sachdeva said: “When we exposed the bogus voter registration of MP Sanjay Singh’s wife Anita Singh, he hastily filed for vote transfer on December 30. If his claims were genuine, why didn’t he admit his mistake and instead file a defamation claim?.”

Sachdeva said holding dual voter registrations is a criminal offense under electoral laws. He urged the Election Commission and the Delhi Police to investigate the matter and take appropriate action. “This is not just a minor mistake. It is a serious criminal offense,” he said.

Terming Singh’s defamation claims as hollow, Sachdeva said: “What dignity does a person have when he is already out on bail and creates double voter registrations while serving as a Member of Parliament?”

The BJP president also pointed to discrepancies in Sanjay Singh’s statements regarding his wife’s voter registration. “He claims her name was removed from the Sultanpur voters’ list on January 4, 2024. However, her name still appears in the list in the affidavit submitted on January 8, 2024. This is clear evidence of misleading the public,” Sachdeva remarked.

Sachdeva claimed that Delhi Mayor Mahesh Kumar had arranged dual voter registrations for his wife under two different names — Mamta and Nidhi — at the same address with identical photographs for both entries. “This is yet another example of fraudulent activities within the AAP,” he said.
