New Delhi, August 20
Several hospitals in Delhi, including AIIMS and Safdarjung, along with a mall, received bomb threats on Tuesday, leading to extensive searches by authorities.
According to officials, the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received the first call at 1.04 pm from a hospital in Nangloi, quickly followed by another one at 1.07 pm from Primus Hospital in Chanakyapuri, both reporting the threats.
Fire tenders, bomb detection teams, and police were immediately deployed to the threatened locations.
The alarming email, sent at 12:04 pm via gmail, listed around 50 hospitals, including AIIMS, Safdarjung, Apollo, Moolchand, Max, and Sir Ganga Ram hospitals, which were facing a bomb threat. The email read, “We have placed many explosives inside your building. They are hidden in black backpacks and will detonate in a few hours. You will end up in a pool of blood, none of you deserve to keep living.”
The email further stated, “Everyone inside the building will lose their lives. I have nothing but contempt for humanity. Today will be your last day on earth.”
It claimed that a group named “COURT” was responsible, adding, “We won’t stop causing terror. Inform the news outlets about our group.”
Authorities noted that this threat follows a pattern similar to previous THREAT emails. A similar threat was received at Chanakya Mall in central Delhi, prompting a search that yielded no suspicious items.
