With the increased use of community transport and being less dependent on fossil fuels, an individual could contribute in achieving sustainable development, says Dr Yogesh Gokhale, editor of the book ‘TERI’s Solutions for Sustainable Development’ launched by the Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar.

Speaking with The Tribune, Gokhale, who is area convener of Centre for Forest Management & Governance and Nutritional Security with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), said through changes in lifestyle, individuals can bring a change in tackling climate change.

“With respect to mobility factors, one can look if they are using community transport and appliances which consume less energy. The book is a compilation of 60 solutions to instil the practice of sustainability for a wide range of stakeholders. “The solutions on energy are aimed at achieving domestic and industrial energy use efficiency, alternatives for clean energy for rural communities and industrial sectors,” he said.
