After being informed by the family, a police team took the body in custody. No suicide note was recovered from the spot. The police have handed over the body to kin after the postmortem.
The cops have identified the deceased as Vikas, a native of Darbhanga in Bihar. He was living on rent at Sukhrali with his family. His father is an auto driver, while his mother works as a domestic help. When no one was home on Friday, he died by hanging himself from a ceiling fan with a bedsheet.
It was around 6.00pm on Friday when Vikas's mother returned home and found her son's body hanging from a ceiling fan. The kin and neighbours took Vikas down from the noose and rushed him to a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Vikas was looking for work and had taken up odd jobs. He was troubled by his family's poor financial situation, as per the cops.
“A further probe is underway,” ASI Vijender, the investigating officer, said.
