A bus plying on Route Number 776 (Uttam Nagar Bus Terminal to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Ghumanhera Depot) suddeny caught fire after a bike rammed into it from behind in Defence Officers Enclave, Delhi Cantt, the police said on Thursday.

No injuries were reported and the passengers were safely rescued by the conductor and the driver, they added.

The motorcycle got stuck under the CNG bus, and due to suspected sparking, the bus caught fire. The motorist fled. Two fire tenders were rushed to the site and successfully extinguished the blaze.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
