Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday disclosed Delhi’s large-scale preparations for International Yoga Day on June 21, saying lakhs of people will participate across the city.
She will lead the main event at the Yamuna Vihar Water Sports Club at 6 am, while yoga sessions will also be held at 10 other key venues, including Chhatrasal Stadium, Thyagaraj Stadium and Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Bawana.
CM Gupta launched a special Yoga Day theme song, sung by award-winning artist Amit Trivedi and penned by Shailendra Singh Shaili. The video showcases major Delhi landmarks, blending the message of wellness and tourism.
Joined by ministers Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Kapil Mishra, the CM urged residents to embrace yoga as a daily practice, saying it brings physical health, mental peace and spiritual balance.
“This year’s theme, ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, reflects our global commitment to harmony,” she said, encouraging citizens to do even 10 minutes of daily yoga.
She also called for a collective pledge to stay healthy and energise the nation through yoga, calling it India’s timeless gift to the world and a path to personal and social well-being.
