Chandni Chowk MP Praveen Khandelwal on Tuesday joined devotees in the celebrations of Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary, paying tributes to the founder of Sikhism and participating in various religious events across the city.
In the morning, Khandelwal garlanded the five Sikh priests leading the procession which commenced from Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Chandni Chowk. The MP greeted the devotees and showered flower petals from a special dais set up by Sikh traders near Fatehpuri Mosque. He was accompanied by Delhi BJP Media Head and Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor.
Later, Khandelwal participated in langar sewa organised by residents of Kamla Nagar, led by Chandni Chowk District BJP president Arvind Garg, near Birla Mandir, Subzi Mandi. As the procession made its way towards Gurdwara Shri Nanak Piao, he served langar to devotees.
Khandelwal also paid respects to the Palki Sahib carrying Guru Granth Sahib at the Birla Mills langar site and received blessings.
Several BJP leaders, including Model Town MLA Ashok Goel, Councillor Vikesh Sethi, and former Mayor Jai Prakash also felicitated devotees and took part in the celebrations at various points across Model Town and Sadar Bazar constituencies.
