An eight-year-old child was crushed to death by a speeding car in the Bhondsi area. The child died after being dragged by the car for around 20 meters. People overpowered the driver, who was a minor and after beating him up handed him over to the police.

An FIR was registered at Bhondsi police station. The minor driver was also injured and admitted to a hospital.

According to the complaint, filed by Ashwani Kumar, a resident of Krishan Kunj, Bhondsi, on Friday evening at around 7pm he was standing with his eight-year-old son, Yuhan, near a doctor’s shop when a speeding car came and hit Yuhan, dragging him along for several meters.

Yuhan’s father along with others rushed him to a private hospital in Gurugram in critical condition where doctors declared him dead.

A senior police official said they handed over the body of the child to the kin after a postmortem. The car has been seized and a further probe is underway, he added.
