CM celebrates Holi with Asha Kiran children, vows better facilities

Accompanied by Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Singh Indraj, CM Gupta played Holi with the children, distributed sweets and chocolates, and extended her festive greetings to the people of Delhi. She urged residents to celebrate the festival responsibly, advocating for the use of natural colours and water conservation.

“I hope no one wastes water, and Holi will be celebrated using natural colours because keeping Delhi clean is our collective responsibility,” she said.

During her visit, Gupta acknowledged the issue of overcrowding at the shelter home, noting that it currently houses more children than its intended capacity. She assured that the department would be directed to make necessary arrangements to address the situation.

"I have instructed officials to address any shortcomings and improve facilities here," she said, adding that she has also asked the minister to upgrade the shelter home’s park with better equipment.

Gupta further stated that she would personally oversee the centre to ensure the children receive adequate care and support.

“I met the children and had a conversation with them. Though they were not in a situation to talk much, they were feeling relieved. I will keep this place under my observation and will keep visiting,” she said.
