Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday said her government was preparing to compensate farmers whose crops were destroyed due to recent floods. She also ensured proper resettlement of families displaced by rising water of the Yamuna.
“Farmers will be given relief. The government is working overtime to get the flood-hit people back on their feet,” Gupta told reporters after chairing a review meeting with district magistrates of all 11 revenue districts.
She directed officials to prepare a list of affected farmers so that compensation could be distributed without delay.
With the Yamuna water level now receding, Gupta said “all necessary arrangements” were being made to help Delhi return to normalcy. She praised revenue officials for their round-the-clock work during the floods and emphasised that relief efforts would continue until all affected people were rehabilitated.
Taking to social media platform X, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s flood preparedness measures. “Today, Delhi is safe because this time our government worked with seriousness and promptness at the grassroots level. Our teams are engaged day and night on every front so that no citizen has to face any hardship,” she posted.
