CM holds Jan Sunwai, calls public dialogue ‘soul of good governance’

Delhi Chief Minister (CM) Rekha Gupta on Wednesday held a Jan Sunwai (public hearing) at the Mukhyamantri Jan Seva Sadan, where she met residents from across the capital and directed officials concerned to initiate action on their grievances in a swift and time-sensitive manner.

During the interaction, the CM heard people’s complaints, suggestions and issues, assuring them that their concerns would be addressed at the earliest. She instructed officials from the departments concerned to ensure prompt redress of all matters and to uphold transparency and accountability in governance.

Gupta said timely resolution of public issues remained the government’s priority. “Public dialogue is the soul of good governance. Listening to people and providing them with solutions is the true hallmark of a democracy,” she said.

She added that the Jan Sunwai initiative reflected the Delhi Government’s commitment to bridging the gap between citizens and the administration. The CM emphasised the importance of such regular public hearings in making governance more responsive, transparent and participatory.

Through this initiative, the government aims to directly engage with citizens and work towards finding sustainable solutions to their problems.
