Speaking at the inauguration, the CM said the new ghat symbolised both the faith of the Purvanchal community and the cultural unity of Delhi. “The Purvanchal community forms the backbone of this city. Through their hard work, service and dedication, they have contributed immensely to Delhi’s growth,” Gupta said.

The event was attended by Laxmi Nagar MLA Abhay Verma, municipal councillors, local representatives, party workers and a large number of residents. Gupta said the new projects represent a step forward in strengthening basic infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents. She added that the Delhi Government remains fully committed to the city’s holistic development and assured that adequate funds would be provided for all projects proposed by MLAs and councillors.

Emphasising her government’s focus on environmental protection, Gupta urged citizens to take part in efforts to make Delhi cleaner and greener. She appealed to the Dhobi community to replace coal-based irons with electric ones and advised security personnel who use wood fires in winter to adopt electric heaters instead.

The Rs 30-crore development works inaugurated by the CM include the construction of 153 lanes and roads costing Rs 16 crore, installation of 75 sewer and water lines worth Rs 12.36 crore and construction of a culvert at Ganesh Nagar Complex at a cost of Rs 1.30 crore. In addition, survey work from S Block, Pandav Nagar to Akshardham Main Road, a beautification survey of the Shahdara Link Drain and the inauguration of the newly built Chhath Ghat were also undertaken.
