During the meeting, the Chief Minister briefed the Prime Minister on various ongoing and upcoming initiatives of the Delhi Government and praised his visionary leadership as a source of inspiration for Delhi’s holistic development.
CM Gupta said the Prime Minister shared his vision for Delhi’s growth, which would provide new direction and momentum to the capital’s progress. She emphasised that making Delhi clean and green remained among her government’s top priorities.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister presented a memento of the National War Memorial to the Prime Minister. She said the government is committed to encouraging schoolchildren to visit the National War Memorial so they develop a deeper sense of patriotism and national pride.
CM Gupta said, “Inspired by the PM's leadership, we are committed to taking Delhi to new heights of development.”
The CM added key development issues related to Delhi were discussed during the meeting. Reaffirming her commitment to a cleaner capital, she informed the PM that solid waste management in Delhi was being enhanced through the use of modern technology, including waste recycling for productive use.
Highlighting the city’s green initiatives, CM Gupta announced the government had launched the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ campaign and was set to plant 70 lakh saplings this year. Efforts are also being made to beautify parks and plant trees along roadsides and vacant spaces. “This is not just an environmental goal but a step towards ensuring a healthy and sustainable future for the next generations,” she said.
The Chief Minister also stressed the government’s plan to develop major historical and national landmarks — such as the National War Memorial, Dr Ambedkar National Memorial and the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya — into new tourist hubs. Awareness campaigns will be launched to educate the public, especially students, about the historical and cultural significance of these sites. Social media will also be used to reach wider audiences.
“We want these national monuments to become places of learning and inspiration — where people connect with India’s heritage, pride, and patriotism,” she added.
CM Gupta thanked the PM for his time and acknowledged the consistent support of the Union Government in accelerating pending projects and enabling effective implementation of new schemes. “Guided by the PM’s mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’, we are working together with the people to build a ‘Viksit Delhi’,” she said.
