During the customary pre-Budget consultation of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman with finance ministers of states, Khattar pitched for subsidised loan at 2.7 per cent interest as is given by NABARD for rural infrastructure.

He batted for the inclusion of the production share along with consumption under the GST regime to boost employment opportunities in high-producing states.

He demanded a separate budgetary provision for the development of Rakhigarhi (archaeological site) located in Hisar.

He urged for interest waiver with regard to the Haryana Government’s Mudra scheme under Chief Minister Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana.

Also, there should be an increase of loan limit for FPOs, which is presently Rs 2 crore to help set up big food processing units in the state.

Besides, he demanded fixing of a subsidy to help the MSME sector in their export venture.

He also demanded for a raise in the provision under “capital expenditure” to Rs 5,000 crore for Haryana.

He further said that 600 FPOs had been opened in the state and the target was to increase them to 1000.

Also, the government aims to set up a medical college in each of the districts.
