The Gurugram police, on Thursday, arrested a 19-year-old man for the murder of his co-worker. The accused had pushed him from the third floor following a brawl over spilled food.
According to the police, the incident took place on the night of August 14 at an under-construction building in Gandhi Nagar Colony where the deceased, Pappu Kumar (35), a native of district Ambedkar Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, along with Umesh and Rajesh used to work and live.
According to the complaint filed by the deceased’s younger brother, the accused, Umesh Kumar (19), a native of Ambedkar Nagar in UP, had a fight with his brother Pappu over spilled food. His friend Rajesh intervened and separated them but after some time, when Pappu went to the third floor, Umesh followed and pushed him to death.
An FIR was registered at the Shivaji Nagar police station.
“During interrogation, the accused revealed that after committing the crime, he fled and would hide at various places in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar,” a police spokesperson said.
