Emphasising the government’s commitment to accessible and quality healthcare, Gupta said, “A healthy Delhi is the foundation of a Viksit Delhi. Our government is working 24x7 to modernise the healthcare system and expand its reach.”

As per official data shared at the meeting, 2,95,237 beneficiaries have been registered under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), enabling them to access free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh. Additionally, 1,23,242 senior citizens have enrolled under the PM Vaya Vandana Yojana. The Chief Minister instructed officials to accelerate the registration of remaining eligible citizens under both schemes.

Gupta also reviewed the progress of 1139 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs to be set up across Delhi under the Ayushman Bharat Mission. So far, 968 sites have been identified and construction is underway at 70 locations. These centres will offer free primary healthcare, essential medicines, health check-ups, and awareness programs. Each of Delhi’s 70 assembly constituencies will house around 15 such centres.

The Chief Minister stressed that all new and upgraded hospitals must be equipped with high-quality services, medical staff, sanitation, and essential equipment. “Our goal is not just universal healthcare, but quality care. We want our public hospitals to outperform private ones,” she said.

She also directed District Magistrates and Chief District Medical Officers (CDMOs) to ensure timely completion of construction and infrastructure work, and to monitor progress regularly.
