CM reviews South Delhi development plans

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday chaired a review meeting with the Member of Parliament, MLAs, councillors and senior officials of the South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency to take stock of the ongoing and pending development projects.

Ramvir Singh Bidhuri is the MP concerned. The CM appointed Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa as the Minister-in-Charge for the constituency, tasking him with monitoring progress and ensuring swift grievance redressal.

Gupta directed officials to prepare detailed progress reports on all pending works within a week and upload them on the CM’s e-portal. She said laxity would be tolerated, with all projects expected to be executed timely using a uniform Standard Operating Procedure. She also announced that every Assembly constituency had been allocated funds ranging between Rs 10 to Rs 16 crore — credited to the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) — with all works to be processed through the e-file system.

Stressing close coordination among the MPs, MLAs and councillors, Gupta said all proposals recommended by elected representatives would be prioritised.

The CM also stressed that basic civic issues pertaining to the water supply, sewerage, roads and parks must be resolved without delay.

After the meeting, MP Bidhuri told the media, “The CM has approved nearly Rs 1,500 crore for projects related to the supply of drinking water in the constituency.”
