Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited Puri Dham for the first time since assuming office and offered prayers to Lord Shri Jagannath. She was accompanied by MP Sambit Patra and Delhi Cabinet Minister Pravesh Sahib Singh.

Expressing her gratitude after the visit, CM Gupta stated, “On this auspicious day of Amavasya, I prayed for the progress of Delhi and the entire country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I am deeply thankful to Lord Shri Jagannath for his blessings and for giving us the opportunity to contribute to the vision of ‘Viksit Delhi’.”

In a significant announcement, the Chief Minister revealed that the Delhi Government will celebrate Utkal Diwas (Odisha Day) with great enthusiasm, paying tribute to Odisha’s rich cultural heritage and reinforcing Delhi’s cultural diversity. “I extend my warm wishes to all citizens of Odisha and my brothers and sisters from Odisha residing in Delhi. This celebration will reflect our commitment to inclusivity and cultural appreciation,” she said.

Acknowledging the contributions of Odisha’s families to Delhi’s growth, CM Gupta assured the community of the government’s dedication to their welfare, security, and empowerment. She also expressed hope that Lord Shri Jagannath’s blessings would guide India on the path of development and prosperity.

The announcement comes as part of the Delhi Government’s broader initiative to recognise and celebrate the cultural diversity of the capital, ensuring representation and inclusivity for all communities.
