Cong appoints 258 block chiefs under Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan

In a major organisational exercise, the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) has appointed presidents for all 258 Block Congress Committees in the capital as part of the nationwide Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan. The appointments were made on the basis of reports submitted by Lok Sabha and district observers, in consultation with district presidents.

DPCC president Devender Yadav said, “Under the Sangthan Srijan Abhiyaan in Delhi, Block presidents in the 258 Block Congress Committees were appointed based on the reports of the Lok Sabha and District observers in coordination with the District presidents, we will fully revamp the party at the block level.”

The newly-appointed Block Congress Committee presidents were felicitated by Devender Yadav at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan, where they were honoured with garlands and turbans after being entrusted with their new responsibilities.

“After the guidelines issued by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi to strengthen the party across the country under the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan, Lok Sabha and District Observers were appointed to monitor the activities of the Block Congress Committees in Delhi and to appoint new block presidents among the 258 Block Congress Committees to consolidate the organisation from the booth-level,” Yadav Said.

He stressed that the restructuring was not just about filling posts but also about empowering committed workers. “The process of appointing Block Congress Committee president was going on for months. Delhi Congress has made the organisation fully established at the block level by appointing presidents to fill some vacant posts and entrust responsibility to the hardworking and loyal Congress workers as district presidents, Lok Sabha and district observers to establish rapport with former MPs, former MLAs, local leaders and Congress workers.”

Many of the newly-appointed block presidents also met Yadav to express gratitude.

“They pledged to put in their utmost efforts to revitalise the party and to bring more young men and women into the fold. People have now realised that it is only Congress that will protect their interests, safeguard their welfare, and defend the country in every possible way under the dynamic leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi,” Yadav added. Yadav summed up the message of this organisational shake-up, “The appointment of Block Congress Committee presidents was a loud and clear message to the party workers that those who sincerely work for the party will be rewarded and encouraged.”
