Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Devender Yadav on Sunday lashed out at the AAP and the BJP, claiming that the schemes launched by former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for the welfare of slum dwellers, street vendors, Dalits, minorities and the marginalised had almost been shut down by the previous and current government in the Capital.
He stated this while paying floral tributes to Dikshit on her 6th death anniversary at the DPCC office.
Speaking on the occasion, Yadav said, “Sheila Dikshit’s tenure was a golden era of development in Delhi. Projects such as the Delhi Metro, flyovers, underpasses, CNG-run DTC buses, modern hospitals, universities, colleges, schools and an extensive green cover changed the face of the city.”
He alleged that the AAP and the BJP governments had failed in carrying forward the legacy of development and instead damaged the state’s infrastructure created under the Congress government. “For the past 11-12 years, both these parties have only cheated the people with false promises. The real tribute to Sheila Dikshit is to expose this loot and corruption,” he said.
