The Congress party has announced Alka Lamba, president of the All India Mahila Congress, as its candidate for the Kalkaji assembly seat in the upcoming Delhi election. Lamba will contest against Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, who is seeking re-election from the same constituency.

Lamba, a former AAP leader and ex-legislator from Chandni Chowk, was officially announced as the Congress candidate on Friday. The Central Election Committee of the Congress party approved her candidature, confirming her run in the 51-Kalkaji constituency for the Delhi Legislative Assembly election.

Alka Lamba’s political journey has seen several shifts. She initially joined the Congress before switching to AAP in 2014, where she was elected to the Delhi Assembly from Chandni Chowk in 2015. However, Lamba rejoined the Congress party in 2019, after her tenure with AAP.
