Ill-effects of narcotics — especially on youngsters — and awareness about cybercrimes took centre stage at the Delhi Police pavilion at the India International Trade Fair (IITF). The pavilion was inaugurated on Monday by Commissioner Satish Golchha.

The showcase also aimed to raise awareness on key provision of new criminal laws, and platform Police Family Welfare Society (PFWS) products.

Cops displayed cyber forensic instruments, delving into processes such as extracting and analysing data from smartphones and cloud sources. The pavilion is set to hold a live demonstration on real-time checking of lost/stolen mobile phones.

A photo-booth, where visitors could take pictures with the Delhi Police mascot, Delhi Police Uncle, was a hit among children.

The Commissioner lauded the initiative, and emphasised the importance of awareness on the new criminal laws, cyber-crimes, and the drug menace. Golchha called for the continuation of such citizen-centric initiatives.
