A Delhi court on Monday recorded the statement of kin of one of the women wrestlers in the sexual harassment case involving former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vaibhav Chaurasiya of Rouse Avenue courts recorded the statement of the witness, the wrestler’s husband.

The examinations have remained inconclusive and the court posted the matter for next hearing on March 25. During the in-chamber proceedings on an earlier occasion, a minor wrestler said she was satisfied with the Delhi Police's investigation in the case and was not opposed to the closure report it had submitted.

The court had, in May last year, framed the charges of sexual harassment and using force to outrage women's modesty against Singh in the criminal case under Sections 354, 354-A and 506 of the IPC as it found sufficient material on record to frame charges related to five out of the six victims in the case filed against him by the female wrestlers.

Singh had pleaded not guilty in the case and claimed trial. It has also framed the charge of criminal intimidation against co-accused and former WFI assistant secretary Vinod Tomar in the case.
