CrackDown on Gun Trafficking
New Delhi: The Delhi Police special cell on Wednesday apprehended a crucial member of an illegal firearms supply syndicate and seized 20 semi-automatic pistols from the suspect. Identified as Gandh Das Dawar, the arrested is associated with the Madhya Pradesh illegal arms syndicate. According to police reports, Dawar was intercepted in Rohini while attempting to deliver an illicit arms consignment to his contact. The firearms were sourced from Madhya Pradesh, and Dawar has allegedly been involved in gun running for the past two years. TNS
MC seals three properties
Gurugram: Under its campaign against property tax defaulters, the Gurugram MC’s enforcement team of the Zone-3 area sealed properties of three such defaulters. Due to an outstanding property tax of over Rs 79 lakh, a property was sealed in Nathupur. The team also sealed an H-1 property in the DLF Phase 1, which had pending dues to the tune of Rs 72 lakh and Gill Farm at Gwal Pahari, which had pending property tax of over Rs 44 lakh. TNS
Man gets 7-year jail for assault
Gurugram: The court of Additional District and Session Judge Tarun Singal sentenced Pritam to seven years of imprisonment for attacking a woman with a knife, with the intention to murder her, in 2019. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the accused. OC
Drug smuggler gets 5-year jail
Gurugram: The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge has sentenced a man to 10 years of imprisonment in a case of drug smuggling. The police had arrested Surjit from Labour Chowk in June 2017. A sack containing 26.7 kg marijuana was also recovered. OC

Tihar Jail inmate dies
New Delhi: An undertrial from Tihar Jail died under mysterious circumstances at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital. The deceased, Gurdeep alias Gora alias Sunny, was arrested by the Vikaspuri police last year under the Arms Act. DCP, West, Vichitra Veer said the deceased had been experiencing health complications and succumbed in the jail on Tuesday. TNS
Drug smuggler held, 1 at large
Gurugram: The Nuh police arrested a ‘drug smuggler’, Nisar Ahemad of Mohlaka village, and recovered 105.5-kg marijuana from his possession. His brother Anil managed to flee the spot.
