Man gets 5-year jail for sodomy

Gurugram: The court of Additional Sessions Judge Jasmine Sharma while convicting an accused of sodomising a minor, three years ago, sentenced him to five years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000. The father of the victim had filed a complaint that on May 23, 2022, the accused had sodomised his son after threatening to kill him. The accused was identified as Prem Chand of Churu. OC

Mirzapur boy crushed to death

Gurugram: A 12-year-old boy was crushed to death by a speeding Scorpio in Mirzapur village of Faridabad on Friday. The body was found in a roadside drain. The entire act was captured in a CCTV camera. The deceased was identified as Tarun of Mirzapur. The accident took place as the victim was playing by the road. Kuldeep, the deceased’s uncle, alleged that the accused, from the same village, was driving carelessly. OC

Delivery man dies in accident

Gurugram: A 20-year-old delivery boy working with Zomato was killed in a road accident after being crushed under a speeding truck near the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) late on Friday night. The truck driver managed to flee, leaving his truck on the spot. An FIR has been registered at the Badshahpur police station. The deceased has been identified as Vikas, a native of Uttar Pradesh. OC

Therapist held for molestation

New Delhi: A 32-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl at a private speech therapy centre in Rohini. The accused, a resident of Mustafabad, was apprehended on September 8. The incident came to light on September 7 after the mother noticed unusual behaviour when her daughter returned home. The girl had been attending these sessions since August 19. TNS
