The AAP is intensifying its organisational restructuring in Delhi, with a meeting held on Thursday led by AAP Delhi convener Gopal Rai, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Atishi and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) in-charge Durgesh Pathak. The meeting saw participation from all AAP councillors.

Gopal Rai said: “Since the elections, we have been engaging with office-bearers across different levels to enhance our organisational framework,” he said.

He detailed the ongoing process, noting that the party has already held discussions with state-level office-bearers, constituency representatives and candidates from the Delhi Assembly elections. Thursday’s meeting marked the fifth phase, focusing on councillors.

Rai underlined the two primary objectives of the meeting - gathering suggestions from councillors for the restructuring process and discussing how they can effectively advance public welfare initiatives in their wards and strengthen their role within the MCD. AAP leaders reiterated their dedication to public service. “Our councillors will continue working towards both organisational development and ensuring effective governance at the local level,” Rai said.

In a critique of the BJP-led Delhi government, Rai accused the party of failing to deliver on its election promises. “During the Assembly elections, the BJP made several guarantees to the people of Delhi. Now, the people expect a Budget that aligns with their needs,” he said.

He particularly highlighted the BJP’s pledge to provide Rs 2,500 monthly allowance to women. “The BJP had assured that in its first Cabinet meeting, it would approve this scheme, with funds reaching beneficiaries by March 8. People of Delhi now demand that the BJP government fulfils PM Modi’s guarantee at the earliest,” he

asserted.
