With the promise to implement flagship Ayushman Bharat Yojana in the first cabinet after coming to power, ownership rights for residents of unauthorised colonies, 50,000 government jobs, and the revival of the Yamuna river, BJP on Saturday released the third and final part of its manifesto for the Delhi Assembly election.

Earlier, the saffron party had released two parts of its manifesto, of which the first one focused on the welfare of Delhi’s women, and the second had multiple schemes for students and middle-class voters.

Releasing their party’s Sankalp Patra vis-a-vis manifesto, Union Home Minister Amit Shah attacked the incumbent AAP government and its chief Arvind Kejriwal on multiple fronts, accusing the latter of building a “Sheesh Mahal” for himself even as he had promised of not taking any government accommodation before entering into politics.

“I have never seen such a lying person in my entire political career. And I don’t have any problem using these strong words because I believe that,” Shah said.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced ownership rights to more than 1,700 unauthorised colonies, which will directly benefit more than 4 lakh people.

The BJP leader promised ownership rights to even refugees who have come from Pakistan. “We will pass a decision on this in the first cabinet meeting,” he said.

The Home Minister, sharing details of the manifesto, announced the establishment of a Workers’ Welfare Board in Delhi, which will ensure all workers have life insurance coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh and accident insurance of up to Rs 5 lakh.

“We will apply the same formula for textile workers. We will provide Rs 10,000 as assistance to workers, and for registered workers we will offer loans up to Rs 3 lakh to enhance skills and businesses,” he said.

The party has also promised free rides in the Delhi Metro for needy students through National Common Mobility Card (NCMC), for which every year Rs 4,000 crore will be earmarked. Besides, the party stated that they will provide 50,000 government jobs, 20 lakh employment and self-employment opportunities for the youth.

BJP also promised to revamp the existing transport system in the city with an investment of Rs 20,000 crore, with which they will create an integrated public transport network. The party plans to convert Delhi into a 100 per cent e-bus city with 13,000 electric buses and simultaneously complete the Phase IV of Delhi Metro. Additionally, BJP has vowed to make public transportation in Delhi run around the clock, with buses and metro services operating 24/7.

The party has vowed to end the menace of manual scavenging in the national capital.
