The official preparations for the Delhi Assembly elections, scheduled to be held in February 2025, will commence next month with a special summary revision of the electoral rolls.

Final list on Jan 6

  • The integrated electoral roll will be published on October 29
  • The public will have until November 28 to submit claims and objections
  • These will be resolved by December 24, with the final electoral roll scheduled for publication on January 6, 2025
  • During the house-to-house verification, voters should confirm their existing electoral details

As part of this process, a house-to-house verification campaign that started in August will continue until October 18.

During this period, booth-level officers (BLOs) will visit homes across the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi to verify voter details and assist residents in filling the necessary forms, according to an announcement from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Delhi.

The integrated electoral roll will be published on October 29 and the public will have until November 28 to submit claims and objections. These will be resolved by December 24, with the final electoral roll scheduled for publication on January 6, 2025.

The CEO’s office emphasised that possessing an Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) alone is not sufficient for voting; voters must also be included on the updated voter list. During the house-to-house verification, voters should confirm their existing electoral details and, if necessary, fill Form-8 for modifications such as address updates, corrections, or the issuance of replacement EPICs. New voters, particularly those who turn 18 by January 1, 2025, are required to complete Form-6.

The CEO’s office also urged residents, especially those living in gated societies and high-rise buildings, to cooperate with BLOs by providing accurate information to ensure voter records are correctly updated. “I appeal to all people of Delhi to take full advantage of the house-to-house voter verification campaign being conducted by the ECI and help improve the accuracy of the electoral roll by providing correct information to the BLOs,” an official stated.

There were 1.52 crore eligible voters for the seven Lok Sabha constituencies that went to polls in May this year. Each Lok Sabha constituency in Delhi comprises 10 Assembly segments each.
