Delhi BJP chief accuses Kejriwal of ‘suppressing’ CAG reports
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva accused former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of suppressing crucial Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports since 2022 to hide corruption within his government.
While addressing a press conference, Sachdeva criticised Kejriwal for evading questions about ‘Sheesh Mahal’ and liquor scams, instead of addressing the allegations directly. “Kejriwal does not hesitate to violate constitutional systems to hide the truth,” Sachdeva said.
“Since 2022, he has suppressed CAG reports. When we question him on leaked CAG reports, particularly about the Sheesh Mahal and liquor scams, he deflects and avoids giving answers,” the BJP leader said.
Sachdeva also slammed Kejriwal over his handling of the Covid-19 crisis. He highlighted the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government in arranging critical resources like hospital beds, medicines and oxygen during the pandemic. The Kejriwal government did not manage the crisis effectively.
The BJP leader further emphasised that the Congress, which is part of a national alliance with AAP, had raised serious concerns about Kejriwal’s handling of the pandemic, based on CAG reports.
“Delhi expects Kejriwal to answer to his national alliance partner about the dark truths of the Covid era, if not to the public,” Sachdeva added.
Looking ahead to the Delhi Assembly elections in February, Sachdeva expressed confidence that the BJP would win the elections. He also vowed to expose the Kejriwal government’s corruption during the Assembly session.
“On the first working day of the new Assembly session, we will make the CAG reports public and hold the Kejriwal government accountable for looting the public wealth of Delhi,” he declared.
