Delhi blast: 45-year-old doctor detained from Pathankot for questioning

He had previously worked at the Al Falah University in Haryana's Faridabad district

In a major development linked to the Delhi bomb blast investigation, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has detained a doctor from a private hospital in Pathankot, Punjab, according to sources.

The detained doctor has been identified as Dr Rayees Ahmad Bhat (MBBS, MS, FMG, Professor of Surgery), aged 45, associated with White Medical College, PS Mamun Cantt, Pathankot district.

He hails from Anantnag, Kashmir, said the sources.

According to the information gathered, Dr Rayees Ahmad Bhat previously worked at Al-Falah University, Faridabad, during 2020-2021.

He was reportedly in regular telephonic contact with staff members currently posted at Al-Falah University.

He was also allegedly in touch with Dr Umar Nabi (main Suspect), the primary accused in the Delhi blast case.
