Senior AAP leader Atishi on Monday accused the BJP of conspiring to harm Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Tihar Jail.

She said Kejriwal’s sugar levels had dropped five times, once reaching a critical level of 50, which could potentially lead to a coma, brain stroke, brain haemorrhage, or even death. She said, “The BJP has stooped so low that this morning they took some documents from the Tihar administration and released them to the media, claiming that Kejriwal has no health issues. But no matter how many lies are told, the truth always wins in the end. The report of the Tihar Jail’s medical officer made it clear that Kejriwal’s life is being played with in the jail.”

If Kejriwal’s sugar level keeps falling like this, he can go into a coma, or have a brain stroke. Stop playing with his health, stop doing politics on his health. The truth always wins in the end. — Atishi, Delhi Minister

Expressing concerns about the implications of Kejriwal’s deteriorating health, Atishi said, “If Kejriwal’s sugar level keeps falling like this, then Kejriwal can go into a coma, he can have a brain stroke, his brain can be permanently damaged.”

In a stern message to the BJP, she said, “Stop playing with Kejriwal’s health, stop doing politics on his health. The truth always wins in the end.”

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva claimed that Kejriwal’s alleged medical issues were part of a strategy to secure bail.

He said, “Whenever a court date is around, AAP leaders start their rhetorical statements that there is a risk to Kejriwal’s life and that he is facing medical issues like high sugar and weight loss. These rhetoric now hold no value in the eyes of the people of Delhi.”

He further asserted that Kejriwal’s health complaints were unfounded given his living conditions. “Kejriwal eats three meals all cooked and coming from his home, and his medicines are provided as per the directive of the Supreme Court based on the advice of his own selected doctors. Kejriwal just lives behind the walls of Tihar Jail; everything he consumes comes daily from his home,” Sachdeva said.
