Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's security was beefed up on Friday after a death threat was issued through a phone call made to the Police Control Room (PCR) in Ghaziabad at 11 pm on Thursday. According to the police, the unidentified caller issued the threat and switched off the phone afterwards. The matter was communicated to Delhi Police by Ghaziabad's inter-state coordination cell.
“The SIM owner has been identified with assistance from the telecom service provider. However, the mobile remains switched off since the call was made,” said the police.
Further investigation is underway to trace the caller.
