Delhi CM urges residents to share ideas for city’s development
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday urged residents to share their ideas for the city’s development, emphasising that their input would help shape the government’s policies. Accompanied by Cabinet Minister Parvesh Verma and other senior leaders, she engaged with people at Lodhi Garden in the morning, inviting suggestions for the upcoming Delhi budget and the broader goal of Viksit Delhi.
Gupta assured the public that her government would work diligently to meet their expectations and implement meaningful changes. “The Delhi government will take decisive steps to develop the city and ensure the well-being of its residents,” she said.
As part of the outreach, the CM and her team interacted with people from a diverse background over ‘Chai pe Charcha’, discussing key concerns and priorities for the capital. Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta and other party leaders were also present. They later attended the Spring Festival at Lodhi Garden.
Speaking on the occasion, Sachdeva reiterated the BJP’s commitment to a people-centric governance model. “The Bharatiya Janata Party government is a government of the people. Today, our Chief Minister personally met workers, discussed issues with them and took their suggestions to make Delhi a better place,” he said.
Later in the day, CM Gupta met Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Harsh Malhotra to discuss key development and public welfare initiatives.
Taking to social media platform X, Gupta reaffirmed the importance of citizens’ participation in governance. “Dedicated efforts and positive policy-making for the betterment of people are the true essence of public service,” she wrote and added that continuous dialogue and cooperation are crucial for making Delhi stronger and more prosperous.
