Delhi Cong collects over 4.37L signatures in ‘Vote Chor-Gaddi Chhod’ campaign

The Delhi Congress has collected over 4.37 lakh signatures across 258 blocks under its “Vote Chor-Gaddi Chhod” campaign, launched after party leader Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP and the Election Commission of colluding to “steal” people’s mandate.

Announcing the figures at a press conference on Saturday, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Devender Yadav said the signatures would be sent to the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to be forwarded to the President of India and the Election Commission.

“The response from Delhi has been overwhelming. People from all walks of life, including street vendors, shopkeepers, women and youth, came forward to support the campaign,” Yadav said. He alleged that Congress workers faced obstruction during the drive in Najafgarh and Babarpur, claiming police detained several party members but “could not intimidate them”.

AICC Delhi in-charge Qazi Nizamuddin said Rahul Gandhi’s expose on alleged vote manipulation had “awakened people” to the dangers facing democracy. “Both BJP and AAP have failed to act on pollution or public welfare for 11 years. A government (BJP) that steals votes cannot be serious about people’s problems,” he added.

Former Delhi minister Narendra Nath, former AICC SC/ST Department chairman Rajesh Lilothia, and DPCC communications chief Anil Bhardwaj also addressed the media.
