Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav on Monday accused the BJP government of playing “hide-and-seek” with the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports to shield alleged corruption in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.

He criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for tabling only three out of the 14 CAG reports in the Delhi Assembly despite having the opportunity to present all of them after the suspension of 21 AAP MLAs.

Yadav alleged that while former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal concealed financial mismanagement by withholding the reports from the Assembly, the BJP government was now complicit in protecting him by limiting the disclosure.

He claimed that the BJP deliberately extended the Assembly session from three to five days but still failed to table the remaining reports, especially those concerning the liquor policy and healthcare sector.

Ahead of the upcoming Budget session from March 24 to 26, Yadav urged the Speaker to ensure that Assembly time and public resources were not wasted.

He emphasised that the session should not be used solely for Budget discussions but also to expose the “corruption and misgovernance” of the Kejriwal administration over the past 11 years.

The Delhi Congress leader also challenged the BJP to fulfill its pre-election promises, including a Rs 2,500 monthly allowance for women, and address civic issues such as broken roads, clogged drains, the pollution of the Yamuna and the deteriorating health and education sectors.

Accusing both the AAP and BJP of engaging in “shadow boxing” instead of focusing on governance, Yadav said, “The BJP is no different from the AAP; both parties are only hungry for power and have no interest in the welfare of the people or the development of the Capital.
