The CM assured the public that her government would fulfil all its promises, particularly those concerning women’s security and empowerment.

“Today is International Women’s Day. We had our Cabinet meeting today, which approved the scheme, delivering on the promise we had made during the Delhi elections to provide Rs 2,500 each to poor women,” she said.

“We have made a provision of Rs 5,100 crore in the Delhi Budget for the implementation of the scheme. We have formed a committee, which will be led by me, for the purpose and the registration of beneficiaries under the scheme will begin soon with the launch of a portal,” she said.

Nadda credited women for the BJP’s victory in Delhi, saying, “On Women’s Day, I salute women empowerment and thank the women of Delhi for making a huge contribution to the formation of the BJP government in Delhi. This victory has been possible only with the blessings and support of women.”

Meanwhile, minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said a committee comprising three ministers — Kapil Mishra, Ashish Sood and Pravesh Verma — had been formed to decide the criteria for the scheme.
