Delhi Govt to launch ‘Talent Hunt Scheme’ to promote hidden artistic talent
In a move aimed at discovering and nurturing the creative potential of Delhi’s citizens, the Delhi Government is set to launch the ‘Talent Hunt Scheme’— a first-of-its-kind initiative to identify and promote emerging artists across
the Capital.
The scheme was discussed in a key meeting chaired by Minister for Art, Culture and Languages Kapil Mishra at the Delhi Secretariat on Thursday. Senior officials from the Department of Art, Culture and Languages were present as a detailed roadmap for the scheme was unveiled.
Originally announced by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during the presentation of the 2025–26 Budget, the Talent Hunt Scheme aims to provide a platform for individuals with talent in music, dance, folk and classical arts, photography and instrumental music. The initiative is envisioned to offer not just recognition but also mentorship and exposure at international platforms.
Calling it a “major cultural milestone”, Mishra said, “Under the visionary leadership of CM Rekha Gupta, the Talent Hunt Scheme will give wings to Delhi’s stars. We want to ensure that talent from all communities, regardless of background, gets a fair chance to shine.”
The scheme will focus on inclusivity and diversity, with special emphasis on participation from underrepresented communities. Workshops, competitions, and mentorship sessions will be organised to support selected artists.
A dedicated budget has been earmarked for setting up training centres, running promotional campaigns, and hosting events that celebrate participant achievements. The government believes this effort will not only enrich Delhi’s cultural landscape but also contribute to the city’s creative economy.
