Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, has declared February 12 as a public holiday in observance of Guru Ravidas Jayanti, marking a departure from the previous practice of treating the day as a ‘Restricted Holiday’ (RH).

Under the earlier arrangement, employees had the option to either take leave or work.

With this new decision, all government offices, institutions and public undertakings in Delhi will remain closed to honour the birth anniversary of Sant Guru Ravidas, a day of great spiritual significance for his followers.

“The Lieutenant Governor of National Capital Territory of Delhi is pleased to declare Wednesday, February 12, 2025, as a holiday in all government offices, autonomous bodies & public undertakings, under the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, on account of Guru Ravidas Jayanti,” read the official order issued by L-G VK Saxena.
