Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena reviewed the progress of important projects being undertaken by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
Saxena and senior officers of the DDA on Tuesday discussed the details of the civil and electrical works, procurements and mandatory clearances required for the projects and fixed the timelines in accordance with the developments that have taken place so far.
The projects amount to more than Rs 4500 crores and are slated to be completed between February-April this year.
Officials said the projects have a potential of positively altering the cityscape, the city’s skyline as well as giving impetus to inclusive in-situ rehabilitation of slum dwellers in the capital.
Some of the projects undertaken by the DDA include – rehabilitation projects at Jailorwala Bagh and Kathputli Colony, Transit Oriented Development Project in Karkardooma, Dilli Gramodaya Abhiyan in Qutabgarh.
The Jailorwala Bagh rehabilitation project will house 1,675 families living in neighbourhood slums is complete and will be handed over to the beneficiaries by the first week of March. The cost of the project is Rs. 421.81 crore.
The Kathputli Colony rehabilitation project will house 2,800 slum dwelling families, with about 1400 flats ready for occupation by March. The first pilot project under the Dilli Gramodaya Abhiyan in Qutabgarh Village will be completed by February. The rejuvenation and redevelopment of the Millennium Park on the Yamuna Floodplains is scheduled to start in February.
