The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will organise a ‘mega’ parent-teacher meeting (PTM) across all its schools on September 6, Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh announced on Thursday.

Singh said the initiative is aimed at strengthening coordination between parents and teachers, reviewing students’ academic progress, and informing parents about ongoing educational activities and reforms. He added that the civic body was committed to providing quality education while encouraging civic participation. “This Mega PTM is a significant step in that direction,” he said.

The Mayor further informed that all MCD councillors will attend the PTM in their respective wards and actively participate in the parent-teacher interactions.

On the occasion, Education Committee Chairman Yogesh Verma said that a cleanliness drive would also be carried out in school premises under the ‘Delhi Ko Kude Se Azadi’ campaign on the same day. Parents, teachers and local community members are encouraged to take part in the drive.

Verma said the initiative aims to ensure that parents not only focussed on their children’s academic development but also contributed towards keeping the campuses clean and environment friendly. Mayor Singh and Verma urged the parents to participate in the PTM in large numbers.
