The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been chosen for the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) Award 2025 for its Maujpur–Majlis Park corridor and has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop an automated cargo evacuation system at Deendayal Port in Gujarat, marking two major milestones in its innovation and expansion efforts.

The ICI Award, presented by the Indian Concrete Institute, Chennai, recognises DMRC’s Maujpur–Majlis Park corridor under the category of ‘Outstanding Prestressed Concrete Structure in the Country.’ The award will be presented during the quinquennial ACECON conference in Hyderabad in December 2025.

Part of Delhi Metro’s Phase-IV expansion, the corridor extends the existing Pink Line and will form India’s first circular ring metro corridor upon completion, improving connectivity and urban mobility across the capital.

In another key development, DMRC has ventured into the port logistics sector by signing an MoU with the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Umeandus Technology Private Limited and BEML Limited for the development of a Real-Time Automated Cargo Evacuation System (e-FTS) at Kandla Port in Gujarat.

According to DMRC, “the e-FTS model could later be replicated at other locations based on specific site and client requirements.”
