Delhi Police nab 3 gangsters after early morning shootout in Rohini

In an early morning shootout, the Delhi police arrested three gang members of the Gogi gang in Rohini, it said on Saturday.

Those arrested have been identified as Lallu (25), Irfan (21) and Nitesh (30).

According to the police, Lallu and his associates were intercepted while they were going to fire outside the residence of a person associated with Gau Rakshak Dal. The said person had earlier given a call to convene a "maha sabha" in connection with an incident of beatings/mob lynching of three persons by Lallu and his associates, an official said.

Moreover, Lallu had also circulated the video of this assault on Instagram to project his association and clout with the Gogi gang.

In the early morning hours, information was received that Lallu, along with his associates, would come in a white car to open fire at the office/residence of the same person near Avantika, Rohini, and would pass through Sector-24, Rohini, to establish gang dominance, the official mentioned.

Based on the input around 2:40 am, near Bankey Bihari Mandir, Sector-24, Rohini, the team intercepted a suspected white car and signalled it to stop while moving their patrol vehicle forward, the policeman added.

On sensing the police presence, the occupants rammed into the police patrol car in an attempt to escape and deboarded the car and opened fire at the police party while trying to flee.

The police team immediately took tactical positions and retaliated and during the exchange of fire, two occupants sustained gunshot injuries on their legs, one accused was overpowered, and two managed to escape by scaling the wall near Ganda Nala, Rithala.

The injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.

A total of 6 rounds were fired by police, while the accused, too, fired 6–7 rounds from their weapons.
