Delhi Police raise awareness on safety ahead of festival season

Residents urged to remain vigilant to prevent mishaps

In view of the upcoming festival season, the Delhi Police on Saturday organised outreach programmes, across the 15 police districts, on safety and security under the “Eyes and Ears” scheme.

Awareness was spread using short films and pamphlets.

The events were held in markets and shopping plazas, and witnessed a high footfall. Besides the shoppers, market welfare associations and resident welfare associations of the respective areas were also roped in to spread the message on alertness during the season.

Additionally, the cops also screened short films, distributed informative literature to the public and messages were also spread through the Jansampark vahan of Delhi Police Public Relation Office.

The event was supervised by Additional Commissioner of Police (PRO) Sanjay Tyagi in coordination with the Deputy Police Commissioners of all the police districts.

“The idea behind the campaign was to relay the message on saftey to the largest possible number of residents through a coordinated campaign,” Tyagi said.

Now, Delhi remains on high alert and awareness programmes are being organised to make the residents to act as the police’s eyes and ears to prevent any mishap during the festivities.
