Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia presided over a meeting with Deputy Directors of Education and other senior officials at the Delhi Secretariat on Thursday.

“Starting April 1, attendance in every school will be marked on the tablets. Section-wise attendance will be marked by teachers. We are aiming to build robust software for our attendance system so that every DDE gets a notification about students’ attendance in each section of each school within their zones. The Deputy Directors should be aware of the number of students turning up for classes and keep a track on the same,” said Sisodia.

“Zero-paper work on attendance will be implemented from April 1. Examination results also have to be uploaded and maintained online (on tablets). Let us do away with paperwork for examination results too,” added Sisodia.

“Each DDE should get a notification by 9:00 AM everyday, about the number of students attending class,” he added. The process of CCTV installation will also be speeded up. Video-conferencing facilities will be available in each school by the end of April 2020,” he said.

He also stressed the need for the DDEs to work on improving the aesthetics of the school buildings, boundary walls, gates and name plates within their zones.
