According to a police officer, the hotel management received an email around 2 am, stating that all guests would be “sent to god” and that multiple IEDs had been planted on various floors of the building. After checking email, the hotel staff immediately contacted the police.

After getting information, a bomb detection and dog squad were sent to the spot. After thorough checking, nothing suspicious was found and the threat was declared a hoax, a police officer said.

Investigations are underway to trace the origin of the email. Preliminary findings suggest the use of a VPN to conceal the sender’s identity, making identification challenging.

A VPN, or Virtual Private Network, creates a secure, encrypted link over the Internet that allows users to conceal their identity.

This incident follows a similar threat received by the Delhi High Court on Friday, which also turned out to be a hoax. The authorities have registered a case at the Cyber police station of the New Delhi district and are working to identify the perpetrator.

In recent months, Delhi has seen a series of bomb hoax emails targeting public institutions, including schools and medical facilities.
