Lieutenant-Governor VK Saxena on Tuesday directed DISCOMs to expedite the provision of over 11,000 pending electricity connections.

Officials said connections, which had been delayed due to bureaucratic red tape and other hurdles, are expected to be issued within a week to 10 days for residents of unauthorised colonies under the Pradhan Mantri-Unauthorised Colonies Awas Yojana (PM-UDAY).

During a meeting, Saxena said there should be no further delay, particularly after the clarification issued by the DDA on October 16.
