New Delhi, February 18

A 38-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly making a hoax call to bomb the Indira Gandhi International Airport on January 28.

The accused has been identified as Krishno Mahto, a resident of West Champaran, Bihar, and the call was made by him intentionally under the influence of liquor.

Usha Rangnani, Deputy Commissioner of Police, IGI Airport, said during interrogation, Mahto confessed to have committed the crime. The police said he was arrested after a long chase, during which he had switched off his mobile phone soon after making the call.

Additionally, the police visited his native place since the number was registered at his home address in Bihar. However, he wasn’t there; subsequently, the police arrested him from Kapashera.
