The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee on Monday offered the 'serai' (inn) at historic Gurdwara Majnu Ka Tilla on the banks on Yamuna for setting up of an isolation ward and quarantine facilities for the treatment of coronavirus patients.
The offer was made by DSGMC president Manjinder Singh Sirsa in a letter written to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Sirsa said all 20 rooms in the inn were equipped with modern facilities can be utilised by the government for treating Covid patients.
He said the DSGMC would provide separate rooms for heath staff such as doctors and nurses with ample parking on Gurdwara permises and "most safe and secure environment". Sirsa said, "The Gurdwara committee is fully prepared to provide packed food packets to government agencies or any other needy institutions. The DSGMC has formulated plan to arrange around 10 lakh food packets immediately to the government.
Gambhir gives Rs 50L from MPLADS fund
- BJP MP Gambhir on Monday offered to release Rs50 lakh from his MPLADS fund for equipment to treat coronavirus patients in Delhi Government hospitals.
- In a letter to CM Arvind Kejriwal, the East Delhi MP also offered his help to the government in dealing with the current situation. PTI
