DU mop-up round: 950 admissions in 3 days

The University of Delhi’s ongoing physical mop-up round has seen 950 admissions completed over the first three days, with 233 students submitting their fees on Thursday alone. The drive, launched after admission cycles left thousands of seats vacant, is being conducted subject-wise across colleges and programmes. On Wednesday, admissions for BA (honours) courses were held, where 435 students secured seats. Thursday’s round focused on BCom and economics courses, significantly adding to the tally.

So far, the process has provided relief to students who missed out in the regular CUET-based rounds.

University officials have announced that students from all categories applying for science programmes will be called on Friday. BA course admissions will follow, with the process for admissions to OBC, SC, and ST category seats scheduled for Saturday, while General category students will be considered on Monday.

The mop-up exercise will continue until September 29, with authorities saying no extensions would be granted.

Any seats left vacant after this deadline will remain unfilled for the academic session. Unlike the regular admission process based on CUET scores, the mop-up round is based on Class XII marks — offering an alternative pathway for students who may not have performed well in the entrance test but scored strongly in their board exams.
