Eyewitnesses said Khatri and his group forcefully entered the campus despite guards and police trying to stop them. Clashes soon broke out with students and faculty members inside the college, leading to chaos and panic.
A video circulating on social media shows a female student alleging that when she, along with others, tried to stop Khatri, he pushed her, stepped on her, and abused her verbally. She further claimed he shouted slogans such as “ABVP go back.”
The violence unfolded hours after NSUI accused its rival, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), of manipulating Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). NSUI leaders alleged foul play in the polls, sparking tension across multiple campuses.
The ABVP, however, strongly rejected the charges. In a counter statement, the group said, “The ABVP is set to win all four seats in the DUSU elections. NSUI, frustrated by its imminent defeat, is now resorting to false accusations and chaos.”
The incident has further escalated hostility between the two leading student outfits. Police deployment across university campuses has been tightened to prevent further clashes as the election battle enters its final phase.
